Saturday Morning at the Box

By Estella in training with no comments

I was up til 5am last night. Making it to the 10am would’ve been too difficult so 11am it is! This was a great start to my weekend.

Warmup
Running around the gym 5x

– last time I barely did 2 laps, this time I applied the breathing principles learned from Steve Maxwell and was able to stay relaxed and breeze through it.

Strength
BB Overhead Squats (85lb)
5, 5, 5, 5, 5

– I didn’t want to go crazy heavy on these and just focused on perfecting technique first. Felt great and I broke a sweat!

Combo (5 rounds)
5 Deadlifts (85lb)
10 knee to elbows
15 box jumps (24″)

– simple but deadly. the deadlifts were the easiest part of this workout. Again, I didn’t go too heavy because I didn’t want to risk injuring my lower back again from lack of proper form. Knee to elbows were done from a hang position. I scaled it and did 2×5 instead of 10 continuous. Box jumps I loved! I did a higher box jump (24″) than prescribed.

About Stronger than Unbroken

Stronger than Unbroken is a personal blog I started to show that true strength comes from within. It is both a physical and mental battle. Strength comes from every obstacle and personal goal I have had to overcome. With each experience, comes confidence and the drive to become better and stronger than when I first started.
