My first encounter with Muji products was during a 1 week solo trip to Japan in the summer of 2009. Ever since then, I’ve been hooked on their products. What really drew me in was their philosophy of simplicity and minimalism in their product designs. They are a lifestyle store that sells everything from clothing, to travel accessories, kitchen items, stationary products, to furniture. If you ever get a chance, their shops are definitely worth walking through. A lot of the shops in Japan also have a cafeteria/food section. The closest stores to me are in New York, which I make a point of visiting every time I’m there. For those times I can’t, there is always the online Muji store 😀 I recently got my Muji fix and bought a whole bunch of stationary products from them. When the shipment came, I felt like a kid on Christmas morning! I love their products.

Muji Chronotebook – One of my new favourite items! It is a pocket sized non-linear day planner where each day is displayed on one spread with a white AM clock on the left side and a dark PM clock on the right. It’s minimalistic, simple, and functional and gives a whole new perspective on the typical day planner. I’ve been using it for over a month and think it’s a great way to plan out my days. Being a designer, I’m a very visual person. It may be analog, but sometimes it’s nice to actually be able to write and draw my plans out as opposed to entering it into my iCal.
0.4mm Hex Gel Ink Pens – These are excellent fine tipped pens. Great for sketching concepts and writing.
0.5mm Gel Ink Pens – you can’t go wrong at $1.50. I always make sure I have one of these on me.
Pen box – clean, simple, and frosted plastic. Great for carrying a few pens & highlighter.
A5 notebooks – It is the perfect size notebook. I use ’em all the time to write down my thoughts, workout notes, and concept sketches.
A4 Folders – These folders rock! It’s like a cross between a binder and a clip board. I like using these to keep all my loose papers and prints organized.
